TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The following policies and terms and conditions apply to the use of this Web site, as well as all transactions conducted with Dog’s Day Trading Post, whether through the site or by other means.

Trading:

The customer will email images and description of each item offered for trade to trade@dogsdaytradingpost.com. Dog’s Day Trading Post will review the items and provide an estimate of their trade value. If the customer agrees to the estimated price, the customer will ship the items to Dog’s Day Trading Post. Shipping will be paid by the sender, and is not included in trade credit. Once items are received in hand by Dog’s Day Trading Post, they will be inspected, and trade credit will be issued. Dog’s Day Trading Post reserves the right to accept or reject any items offered for trade. Dog’s Day Trading Post does not currently purchase items from customers, only issues trade credit in an amount fair and profitable to both parties. Trade credit cannot be used on certain new items, as specified in their individual listings.
Any items received by Dog’s Day Trading Post without prior discussion with the sender will be considered a gift from the sender, and no trade credit will be issued.

  • “You ship in, I ship out:” When items are shipped to me, when the trader provides proof of cost (emailed picture of receipt with tracking number, if the postage isn’t on the package), I will issue a coupon code for that amount that you can apply to the shipping of your next order. If the shipping exceeds the amount on the coupon, you pay the difference. If shipping is less than the coupon amount, you’ll be issued a new coupon.

Sales Tax:

California residents have to pay state sales tax on any cash transactions, including transactions paid with trade credit, per state law. This does not currently effect a direct item for item trade. All other states are (to the best of my knowledge) exempt from sales tax.

Custom Orders:

Custom made items may take up to 6 weeks from the time a deposit is received until it is ready to ship. If more time is required, Dog’s Day Trading Post will notify the customer ahead of time. A minimum deposit of 50% of the custom item’s total must be paid before work begins. Items under $150 must be paid in full. The remaining balance must be paid in full before the item will be shipped. Custom made items cannot be returned.

Made-to-order:

Made-to-order items are not typically kept in stock, and are manufactured at the time the order is placed and payment received. Made-to-order products may take up to 6 weeks to ship, depending on current workload. The customer will be kept informed throughout the build process.

Sales Outside This Website:

Items you see listed for sale on this website are also made available for purchase through social media such as Instagram, at craft shows, and other places. While every effort is made to remove items from the website as soon as they are sold (when sold elsewhere), in the unlikely chance that an item you purchased is no longer available, you will be offered the options of selecting an alternate item or being refunded.

Invoiced sales – for ready made items sold through Instagram and paid by PayPal invoice: Payment is expected within 24 hours of the invoice, unless other arrangements are made with Dog’s Day Trading Post. If invoice is not paid within 24 hours, a reminder will be sent. If invoice remains unpaid after an additional 24 hours after the reminder (total 48 hours from invoice), the invoice will be canceled and items will be again made available for general sale.

Shipping:

We ship on Thursdays or Fridays (typically Friday), using the least expensive method possible. We will try to accommodate special shipping requirements as well as we can, if we are contacted before your order is placed. Domestic (lower 48) shipping is calculated at checkout. Alaska and Hawaii, as well as international customers, contact us for accurate shipping prices.

Return Policy:

We stand behind our products, but do require that new products are returned in an unused, new condition for manufacturer’s defects. We do not accept returns other than for defective workmanship. Please understand that most of our products are handmade from natural materials, variation is to be expected, and is part of the charm of purchasing natural items. Used items are also a common product for sale by Dog’s Day Trading Post, which may not be in like-new condition. Please make sure you want the product before you purchase it.

Privacy Policy:

Long story short, I hate it when people sell my information, so I’m not going to do it to you.
